IT:Production
Class description
IT: Production is an excellent course for students to decide if they wish to continue in this field. For one-half of the semester the students are in the woodshop and the other half of the semester they are in the metal shop. When in the woodshop: students learn the basic safety skills and how to use and work in a shop environment. They learn how to use hand tools, identify the different woods and how to build a simple project. We incorporate design, measuring and math skills. The students learn about what goes in to the cost of a product. When in the metal shop: students will be oriented to resources, technical processes, industrial applications, and technological impacts of manufacturing. A small supplies fee will be assessed to each student.
